Photo Worthy Food – Grilled Pork Chop with Apricot Sauce

Gilled pork chop with apricot sauce, as served at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Farmington, Pennsylvania, USA.

I recently had a business trip to the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA.  For those who don’t know, Nemacolin is located about 1 1/2 hours southeast of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.  Nemacolin sits just on the edge of Ohiopyle State Park.  This is some absolutely beautiful country.  The resort is fantastic.  There is so much to do there.  The restaurants and the spa are first class.  For those who like outdoor adventures, you can white water raft, zipline,  skeet shooting, or go four-wheeling in a jeep.  Throw in some great pools and a championship golf course, and what more could you ask for?  Maybe butler service in the room you say.  Yeah, they have that too!!!  (Honestly, I thought the butler was just messing with me when he said he could wake me up in the morning with a gentle nudge.)

Here’s the link to check it out!   Oh, I almost forgot, the pork chop with apricot sauce was fantastic.

PHOTO WORTHY FOOD – PASTA WITH VODKA SAUCE

A homemade dish, pasta with vodka sauce.

Today’s edition of Photo Worth Food comes from a reader submission.  John B. from Cranberry , PA submits to us Pasta With Vodka Sauce served with mushrooms and fresh mozzarella.  This is a homemade creation.  A little side note, it was John’s “last supper” before he had his wisdom teeth removed.  Great creativity on the meal, looks delicious!  An interesting fact on Vodka sauce:  It’s an Italian-American creation.  If you go to Italy, don’t expect to find it on the menu.  As a matter of fact, the Italians may even snicker a little if you ask about it.

Soft-shell crab served from Pusadee’s Garden, Lawrenceville, PA.

Today’s edition of Photo Worth Food comes from a reader submission.  Lori from Sarver, PA submits to us Soft-Shell Crab.  Lori claims that Pusadee’s Garden in Lawrenceville, PA serves the absolute best Thai food you can get.  Lori also says it is “so delicious with an intensity level of seven”.  Now, Lori should know what good crab is as she lived in Ocean City, MD for 3 years.  Thanks for the great review Lori.  It appears that everyone else agrees with Lori’s assessment as well.  Urbanspoon has the place rated with 95% positive feedback.  Click here for directions and more information from Urbanspoon.

PHOTO WORTHY FOOD – PAN SEARED MAHI MAHI

Pan seared Mahi Mahi served with local Piton Beer and Rum Punch.

After touring the Island of St. Lucia all day with the best driver of all time, we were hungry for some dinner. We asked Ali, “Where should we go for dinner, can you recommend a restaurant?” He then informed us to skip dinner at a restaurant and head to the Gros Islet Friday Night “Street Party” near Rodney Bay. It was just a short drive from Castries. He said he would come pick us back up at 7pm and take us there and back. Also, he informed us there we would find some great food, some real island culture, live music, and be able to dance in the streets with the locals and tourists alike. How could we say no to that? Little did we know that we would have our best meal on the entire trip that night. We both opted for the pan seared Mahi-Mahi fish. Hands down, the best piece of fish I’ve ever eaten in my life. It just melted in your mouth. The fish was served with rice, salad, maccaroni pie, and some local vegetables that I still don’t know what they were today. I was glad that I brought along the camera because it was truly Photo Worthy Food.

PHOTO WORTHY FOOD – OLIVES OR EGGS??

Olives or eggs??? Served at a street cafe in Milan on Via Buenos Aires.

So what are they eggs or olives?  They don’t quite look dark enough for olives, but you’ve never seen eggs quite that shade of green.  Maybe they are pickled???  We got these served to us at a street cafe in Milano, Italy.  They were quite delicious.  They paired very well with a glass of Prosecco.  Well, I guess we should let everyone know.  These are indeed OLIVES for those who are dying to know.  I am typically not a huge fan of olives, but these were pretty good.  Triplo G Chef Geri, a big olive fan, devoured them.  I’m not sure why, but everything seems to taste better in Italy.  When I sat down for a glass of Prosecco that day, I would never have imagined that I was about to be served Photo Worthy Food!!!
